Search String 101

The search bar in your Pokémon storage can filter your entire collection instantly using simple symbols (operators) and ranges.

1. The Three Essential Operators

Connect keywords using these symbols to filter exactly what you see:

  • & (AND): Narrows your search. Both conditions must be true. Example: shiny & 4* shows only Pokémon that are both shiny and 100% perfect.
  • , (OR): Expands your search. Matches either condition. Example: fire, water displays all Fire-types and all Water-types together.
  • ! (NOT): Excludes specific groups. Example: !legendary hides your Legendaries so you don't accidentally transfer them during a cleanup.

2. Using Ranges

Filter stats, time, or CP using a hyphen (-):

  • cp-1500 : Pokémon at or below 1500 CP.
  • cp2500- : Pokémon at or above 2500 CP.
  • age0-7 : Everything caught within the last week.

3. Quick Tips

  • No Spaces: Do not put spaces between your symbols (use shiny&4*, not shiny & 4*), or the search will fail.
  • Save Strings: Long-press your search history box in the app to save your favorite combinations permanently.
